Dear Parents
At this stage, we are proceeding with our plans for all students to come to school from Monday for half days. We are looking forward to seeing all our students back next week. We appreciate that the situation in Hong Kong regarding COVID-19 is dynamic at the moment. Please watch out for App messages across the weekend for updates, especially if our plans need to change. We will provide updates to you as soon as we can.
A separate App message has been sent to all parents this afternoon outlining our detailed plans for all students returning to school on Monday. Please read this carefully, as we have included an acknowledgement request at the bottom of the message.
Kind Regards,
Mark Blackshaw
Principal
We are very much looking forward to seeing students back every day next week.
Studiosity
We are providing a new 1:1 tutor help service to all Year 11 students. This is an online service that has been checked and approved by ESF to provide 1:1 help to our students at any time of the day or night. They can ask for help or advice with any academic topic while they are working or revising from home. This will support students as they prepare for exams and assessments this year. You can see an introduction to the service here. Students have been sent their login details already.
Exam updates
Year 11 students will begin exam study leave two weeks after the Easter break, their last day of timetabled classes will be Friday 23 April. We are preparing a schedule now that shows the external examinations and our internal assessments. The internal assessments will be for subjects that are not having external exams. They will cover content that has been taught in Term 2 and other topics depending on the subject. They will give students a chance to prove their knowledge and skills. Grades from these will be part of the evidence used to determine the overall grade submitted to the exam boards. Students will be told what topics the assessments will cover and we will schedule them to avoid too many assessments at once and to leave room for students to focus on the external exams.
In addition to Studiosity mentioned above, we will provide access to subject teachers during study leave in the lead up to exams and assessments.
Please talk with your child. As always with the conclusion of Year 11, some will find this period stressful and challenging. Please reach out to us if you are worried or we can help.
We look forward to seeing our Year 13 students in school every day next week.

Dear Parents
Please read carefully through Mr. Mark Blackshaw’s message regarding the return to school arrangements. Students were spoken to in Tutor time earlier this week about our expectations, with particular emphasis on health and safety. Please spend time this weekend talking to your child about the importance of mask wearing at all times and regular hand washing - we need to take responsibility for ourselves and our role in the community.
The option system is now open in LIONEL for students to make decisions about their Creative and Performing Arts courses for Year 8. Students will go onto their LIONEL data hub page and click on the Y7/ 8 Options icon, where they will select the three courses they would like to continue studying next year, from Music, Drama, Art and Media. If students have been successful in their applications for the Music Academy, they will simply click the Music Academy box.
Teachers will continue to speak to students about these option choices in Creative and Performing Arts lessons over the next two weeks.
Students have until 25 March, 5:00 pm to make these decisions and enter this into LIONEL. After this date I will be contacting parents to seek confirmation that they support the option choices made.
Have a lovely weekend.

Please be reminded that your Year 9 Core options choices should have been submitted by 3.30 pm today. The form can be found here. Please note, if you did not complete the form, you will be entered onto the default course choice of Double Science and Mathematics.
Should students wish to make any subsequent changes to the options they have chosen for Year 10, they will need to look out for information following the Easter break. All option change requests will be processed in Term 3.
I hope your child has had a good week learning both online and in school. We have certainly enjoyed seeing them around school on Monday, Wednesday and Friday this week. Next week, we look forward to seeing them everyday.
Have a great weekend.
