Principal's message
Dear Parents and Guardians,
It was great to welcome all our new Year 6 into Year 7 students to our school today. Our students seemed to really enjoy the opportunity to meet with teachers and future classmates. It is a sign of strong community support that we will welcome over 300 students next year into Year 7, with many more still on the waiting list. We feel a sense of privilege that many parents choose to send their children to KGV, and partner with us to enable our young people to 'be their own remarkable'.
Today, it was pleasing to see the students come together from a range of ESF schools, as well as students joining KGV from outside the ESF family. The highlight for many may have been the games on our pitch, with the rain holding off just long enough. The students relished the space, and many may have found the space at KGV something that they will enjoy and appreciate.
Congratulations to our Year 13 students who finished either their BTEC Diploma course work and/or final IB Diploma exams last week. We are now looking forward to Year 13 students coming into school on Tuesday next week, for their final day celebrations. This will be followed by the Year 13 Graduation Ceremony at our school on Wednesday 1st and 2nd June next week. It is such a proud and significant moment for students, parents and staff. We look forward to meeting many of our parents next week for this important rite of passage.
Thank you again for your support for students to complete a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) each morning. The Government announced that the RAT requirements will continue for the rest of this term. We will be handing out more RAT kits next week to see students through the last four weeks.
Please see again below the link to the Draft KGV Calendar for next academic year.

Have a good weekend.

Lessons on Monday and Tuesday of this coming week will be tutorial style, giving our students an opportunity to focus on preparation for their assessments.
Assessment Week will begin on Wednesday 1st June and run until Friday 10th June. Our BTEC students will continue to have lessons as normal during this time. All IB students will be off the timetable for the duration. The schedule is below.
Wishing you a great weekend.

Year 7 Message
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
KGV was a buzz today as we hosted the ESF Transition Day! It is hard to believe that a whole year has passed since your child was visiting KGV, preparing for their transition to our school. Now a year on, our Year 7 Transition Leaders did a superb job welcoming our new students and making them feel very quickly at home.
Year 7 students today spent time with their Year 8-9 tutor for the 2022-2023 academic year. Please spend time with your child this evening listening to their experiences and hearing how students now move to a vertical tutor group experience.
Next week we have another four-day week, with Friday being the Public Holiday. Please encourage your child to sign up for the House competitions currently being held at KGV. It has been wonderful to see so many students getting involved.
Have a great weekend.
The Year 7 Team
Year 8 Message
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
KGV was a buzz today as we hosted the ESF Transition Day! It is hard to believe that a whole year has passed since the last Transition Day and your child is getting ready to join Year 9 next academic year.
Today, all students met their tutor for the next academic year. Most of our Year 8 students will remain with their current tutor, and whilst the Year 9s move up to a new Year 10-11 tutor group, Year 8s were joined by a new group of Year 7 students. Please spend time with your child this evening listening to their experiences and hearing how students benefit from the vertical tutor group experience.
Next week we have another four-day week, with Friday being the Public Holiday. Please encourage your child to sign up for the House competitions currently being held at KGV. It has been wonderful to see so many students getting involved.

Year 9 Message
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
KGV has been a buzz this week as Year 9 students took action for the Year Community Project. We have seen various in-school events such as a charity scavenger hunt, a free throw basketball competition and an art exhibition raising awareness for Gender Inclusivity, to name a few. This is on top of many very informative advocacy campaigns and different forms of direct action taking place outside of school. It would be great for students to continue to post a photo or screen capture with a short caption to celebrate the excellent work they are doing. PADLET. Students are encouraged to keep taking action up to Monday 6th of June when the students will then begin the process of reflecting on their project and preparing for the final presentation.
