Principal's message
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope you are all well.
I just wanted to thank you all for your ongoing support across, what has been another challenge for many, in Hong Kong. No matter what we are faced with, keeping the needs of your child and our student first in all that we do, is a powerful reference point to keep us on track and to be making the right decisions.
I am proud of our school and community, as we continue to strive to provide our young people with:
A safe environment where they can be their imperfect selves
A sense of belonging and purpose that is something bigger than themselves
Positive, trusting and consistent relationships
Opportunities to grow, fail, and challenge themselves
Kindness and forgiveness
Support always, and when they need it the most
A sense that they are always seen, heard and known
Much of this represents the vision for KGV School - We create a ‘school for one’; a place where each student feels that the school was created just for them. Through a lived experience, we all feel a deep sense of belonging, identity, and purpose.
We know this is a journey we are on, and we will only achieve this by working with students, family, staff, and the community.
We have had another really successful year at KGV. After all this hard work, we hope that all our students and families get some time over the break to reconnect, relax and recharge. Good luck to our Graduating Year 13 students as they take their next step in their learning journey. We are very much looking forward to welcoming our Year 7, 10 and 12 students (and all other new students) back on Tuesday, 23 August and our Year 8, 9, 11 and 13 students back on Wednesday, 24 August.
Stay safe and enjoy the break.
Kind Regards,
Mark Blackshaw
Principal, KGV School
The Year 10 term 2 summary is available through the app. This summarises the data that is available in the CCF system into one document. Please remember that individual assessment grades contribute to the overall Current Attainment Grade (CAG) and this is your best indication of how your child is doing in each subject. With two terms to go there is still plenty of time for students to make progress. All results are internal at this stage so it's important that students see this data as feedback and use it to direct their efforts to prepare for the exams next May that will determine their final grades.

The Year 9 students have recently finished their Community Project Journey. The students have worked in groups over the past 6 months on a service-learning project where they developed awareness of needs in the various communities they belong to, leading them to take appropriate and meaningful action. This project allowed students to consolidate their learning from the MYP through engaging in a sustained, in-depth inquiry leading to service as action in the community.
To have a look at some of the groups ACTION, visit the KGV Community Project PADLET.We are excited to share that 10 students have entered the MI Young Writers Awards this year and one of them has won the Top 50 Award:
