I hope you had a good week. Our students returned to school this week with many stories and anecdotes about their Challenge Week experiences. The stories were as varied as the activities on offer, and it was great to see so many students make the most of the experiential learning opportunities.
Parent Teacher Interviews
In recent surveys, our parents have rated parent-teacher interviews as a highly valuable process and would often like to meet with all their child’s teachers. The challenge in the past is that scheduled interviews across an evening for a specific year level never provide enough appointment slots for parents to see all the teachers they wish to see.
To address this, we plan to concentrate all Learning Review interviews (parent-teacher interviews) on
We expect that these times will provide enough opportunity for every parent to speak to all subject teachers of their son or daughter. On the two days of interviews, students will be provided with detailed work they can access online via Google Classrooms. Interview booking processes will be emailed to parents later next week.
Some factors to note for the Learning Reviews are:
Please look for a further email guide to assist with the online booking process through Lionel. Our staff are looking forward to this opportunity and the prospect of finding time to meet with the parents of all their students. At KGV, we see the partnership between parents and the school as vital to maximising the learning and wellbeing outcomes of ‘your child and our student’.
EDB Survey
The EDB has requested that we share the following with our parents.
Policy 21 has been commissioned by the EDB to conduct a survey questionnaire for parents in Hong Kong and KGV parents have been selected to complete the survey. The study results will help the Hong Kong SAR Government review the provision of international school places in Hong Kong and the support measures for the international school sector.
The information gathered in the study will be kept strictly confidential and used for overall statistics only. No reference will be made to the identity of individual respondents. Please complete the below.
Have a good weekend.
Kind Regards
Mark Blackshaw

We started this week with a great Year 7 fish and chips lunch! This meal was planned to happen on the Friday of Challenge Week, but the weather made us have to change plans!
We have also spent the week in tutor time deciding on some student leadership roles. Each tutor group is looking to appoint a Transition Leader and a School Council Representative. Well done to those budding young leaders. We will have more details in the coming weeks highlighting the work they are doing.
Next week, parents and caregivers have the opportunity to sign up to meet their child’s teachers in the upcoming Learning Review which will take place on Wednesday, 23 November. Please carefully read through the instructions posted in this bulletin on how to make the appointments and be ready for the system opening up on Monday 14 November.
To enable all teachers to meet with parents and caregivers, students will work from home on Wednesday, 23 November. Teachers will be setting work for students to complete independently.
A reminder that all students must wear school ties on Monday, as our official winter uniform period begins.
