Principal's message
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope you had a good week. It has been a busy week with many students finishing off end-of-year assessments as we prepare to finish up another academic year. Our students and teachers look forward to the summer break and the chance to unwind and recharge.
It will be a different story for our KGV Facilities team over July and August, as they will be working hard to manage a number of exciting projects. Over the summer break, we will be:
We thank the ESF, our KGV School Council and our KGV PTSA for their support of these projects. We must continue to upgrade our facilities for the benefit of our students, and we are confident that the students will be impressed with the upgrades.
Reports
A reminder that all students (Years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12) will receive a comprehensive report next week. Our teachers have been working hard to write the words, including an overall grade, a summary of the content and skills covered and personalised comments on what the students are doing well at and what they could do to take the next step.
This year we have also used some of the new AI assistant technologies to help us edit the reports and improve the quality and consistency of the comments. We hope the reports will provide comprehensive feedback on student learning progress and how we can work together to support them on their ongoing journey of achievement and growth.
Kind Regards
Mark Blackshaw,
Principal, KGV School.
Year 11 Message
We have seen our students grow and mature through Year 10 and 11 and we are very proud of the resilient, mature people they have become.
We hope they enjoy a long and well-deserved summer break.
If you are returning to KGV for Year 12, remember to purchase senior school uniform over the summer. The first day back at KGV will be Wednesday, August 16th.
(I) GCSE results will be available in August. Students need to login to Cambridge and Edexcel to get their results. Ms Wu sent them an email on May 8th with login details for these.
Year 12 Message
As we enter our final week of term, we would like to congratulate our Year 12 students on their wonderful levels of resilience shown this term.
We had an assembly today where we discussed University Predicted Grades (UPGs). Students were informed that subject teachers will inform students if their UPG is going to be increased. We reminded our students that we are bound by BTEC and IBO strict guidelines and politely ask that families do not petition teachers to change a PG on the basis of university or other external requirements.
Remember, your son / daughter can talk to any our Year 12/13 team if they have any issue involving BTEC or IB. As more data is gathered, students’ PGs will continue to evolve as they progress through term 1 and 2 of Year 13.
Wishing you a great weekend.
Year 8 Message
The preparations are in place for the last week of the Academic Year 2022/2023.
Next week we have house, year-level and end-of-year assemblies planned to celebrate our student's efforts both in and outside the classroom.
As part of resetting our KGV expectations, at the start of Term 3, we committed to Reward Students in Years 8-9 for 100% attendance, punctuality and correct uniform. We look forward to rewarding those students who have met the KGV expectations this term and believe that all students can strive for these rewards at the start of the next academic year. Regular attendance and good punctuality to class allow students to engage in classroom activities fully, build good routines and develop time management skills. Bringing the correct uniform each day demonstrates strong organisational skills. Developing these good habits in middle school will set students up for success as they enter senior school and the expectations on them will increase.
Our Year 8 students have been working incredibly hard in making a variety of creative projects in response to William Shakespeare's Macbeth. We look forward to seeing some of you at this event next Tuesday.

Have a great weekend!
Year 7 Message
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
The countdown to the end of term is well and truly on! The Year 7 students are doing a tremendous job of maintaining high standards in terms of behaviour and work ethic right to the end of their first year at KGV School.
Next Friday we will be celebrating the year with a Year 7 assembly and recognising student achievement.
Next Friday is a dress casual day, with HK$20 donations asked for our school charities.
We will be sending out end of term/ start of term information towards the end of the week. You will also gain access to Year 7 reports at the end of the week.
Enjoy the weekend.
The Year 7 Team.
Year 10 Message
There is one more week to go this academic year. We will finish at 12.15 on Friday.
In our Year 10 assembly this week we talked at length about leadership. We discussed how applying for leadership roles is a helpful thing to do, even if you are unsuccessful and that you don't need an official role to be a leader.
We also looked at their journey through KGV and what next year might hold for them.
