Interim Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope you have enjoyed a good week and it has certainly been a positive and vibrant one at KGV. The Interhouse Cross-Country events created a wonderful atmosphere of both inclusivity and competition in this last week before the mid-term break, and a big thank you to our PE team for enabling this event. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our staff for their dedication and expertise throughout this term. Their commitment to enabling all students to thrive is truly remarkable and I know our wider community certainly appreciates their efforts.
As the academic year progresses, it is important that we ensure parents are kept informed and engaged with how their child is progressing. With this in mind, interim reports are published today. These brief reports provide feedback on how organised your child is, and how they are engaging with learning early in the year. These are key aspects of being successful in learning, with this snapshot data helping us to plan how to best support each and every student as we move forward. They may also provide an early warning for students with issues across multiple subjects. If these raise questions for you, please contact your child's tutor or their teacher while copying in their tutor after the half-term break.
Looking ahead, Challenge Week runs immediately after the half-term break from Monday, 30th Oct to Friday, 3rd Nov. All students and staff will be involved in hands-on experiences, working together outside the classroom. KGV students will be around Hong Kong and around the world engaging in a wide range of activities for the week.
All information is on our Challenge Week website. Please bookmark or leave open the webpage for your child's activity. Look out for a separate app message today with more details so you know what is happening after the half-term break.
Further ahead, please remember 6th November is a staff training day and students should remain at home. I will share more details on the focus points for teachers nearer the time.
I wish you all a good mid-term break and we look forward to welcoming the students back for Challenge Week on 30th October.
Best regards,
Mark Poulsum
Interim Principal
Preliminary option choices continued for Year 11 students this week.
Approximately 200 Year 11 students will be travelling internationally, starting next week. We wish them safe travels and know they will have memorable experiences that reinforce their language learning.
Everyone else is involved in local Challenge Week activities starting on Monday, 30th Oct. Make sure you can access the webpage for your child's activity where you can find all relevant information.
Interim reports will be published today. These will indicate how organised your child is in class and how well they are engaging with the learning. These two things are key for them to be successful. If the report raises any questions then, after the half-term break, please get in touch with the teacher of that subject and be sure to include the tutor in the discussion.
Enjoy the half-term break.

We have reminded our students to avail of our HE Counsellors during Challenge Week and we encourage them to email their counsellor as soon as possible to book in for a meeting.
We wish all of our Year 12 and 13 students and their families a relaxing and peaceful half-term break.
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
We made it to half term! We are so proud of our Year 7 students and the progress they have made this half term. We are all certainly deserving of a break and hope you and your family have the time to relax and reconnect, before we embark on another busy couple of months, starting with Challenge Week!
On Wednesday this week, our students met with Dylan from Higher Ground who is the company taking our students on their camping experience. He talked through the team building activities they would be taking part in. He was also able to share with us the draft menu for the camp two days. Please click here for details
A few reminders for Challenge Week;
C2, N2, R2, U2 will camp on Tuesday night at Hok Tau Campsite
C3, N3, R3, U3 will camp on Thursday night at Hok Tau Campsite
