Principal's Message
Dear KGV Families,
With the Year 13 exams finishing, and BTEC students finalising their portfolios, the class of 2025 will be looking forward to their graduation ceremony and dinner next week. Over the past few weeks it has been truly impressive to see the students demonstrate their determination and resilience as they strive to achieve the best possible outcomes.
When speaking to the students, they reflected so positively on the ongoing support provided during the exams period. The positive and encouraging conversations at home, the small group revision sessions with teachers in school, and the peer support that is always so important. It is genuinely a community effort that builds student success, from Year 7 through to Year 13. I would encourage all students to continue to reflect on their progress, seek support from teachers, and share their learning at home and with friends.
With the break in exams next week, we will take the opportunity to host some important events. This will include the KGV based service for Mason Wilkinson. This will be an opportunity for our community to come together, share our memories and celebrate his life. Parents and students are welcome to attend, but as space will be limited please sign up using this link.
Thanks for your ongoing support and have a good weekend ahead.
Best regards,
Mark Poulsum

Year 7 Message
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
We are two weeks into our Mobile Free, Gate to Gate trial. Year 7 students have been doing incredibly well in meeting and respecting the new expectations. On Monday I will email parents and students directly with the link to the mid-trial questionnaire. Your feedback is an important part of this trial. Please can you look out for this email and spend a couple of minutes completing the questionnaire.
Next Friday is our ESF Transition Day, where we welcome our next Year 7 cohort! Our current Year 7 students will act as Tour Guides in Period 1 on Friday. We are asking all Year 7 to wear their PE kit for the full day on Friday. There will be no need to change again after Period 1.
Have a great weekend.
The Year 7 Team.

Year 10 & 11 Message
Year 10 students are involved in a tutor group table tennis competition. Much to their delight, group U20 beat the staff team this morning.
Year 11 students get a week to catch up with no exams scheduled until 3rd June. Our next exams are Drama - 3rd June, Maths - 4th June and History 5th June.
Congratulations to Prisha Bahrunani, Elvin Jiang and Momoka Kobayashi, who have been selected as finalists in the Hong Kong Youth Summit hosted by the Hong Kong Outstanding Students' Association. They advocated the use of a cutting-edge compound that can eliminate microplastics absorbed in the body, and presented their idea of manufacturing and selling a chewing gum containing this compound. Their originality was highly praised, and they received high marks from the judges in the creativity category.
School References (Non-Higher Education Purposes) & Grade Summary – Deadline for Requests
Please refer to the attached announcement in the weekly parent newsletter regarding requests for school references and grade summaries.
Parents are kindly advised to submit requests for school references via this form by 6 pm on 23 May 2025. This allows teachers sufficient time to complete the references before the end of the school year.
Requests received after this deadline will be processed, but we cannot guarantee completion before the summer break. Such requests are expected to be fulfilled upon the school's resumption in August.
School references for higher education application process for Year 12 and Year 13 are handled in a different process. There is no need for a request.
Parents are also encouraged to use their parent Lionel login to access semester summaries on their child's CCF page. Grade summary requests will be processed in July, following the release of the 2024-25 Semester 2 summaries.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
