Principal's Message
Dear KGV Families,
As we move towards the end of term we enjoy so many special occasions where KGV students can celebrate their successes.
The Y9 Community Project demonstrated the excellence of our skilful students as they took action to benefit others. The depth of their knowledge, insightful research and meaningful approaches to making a difference stood out. It was also wonderful to see so many proud parents celebrating their children graduating from the MYP as they achieved another milestone in their learning. We are confident they are ready to embrace the challenge of IGCSEs and I would like to share my appreciation for all of our Year 9 teachers who have supported them throughout this year.
The Sports Awards was also a great occasion to celebrate the success of our sportspeople and teams. The level of excellence demonstrated by our athletes, as well as the extraordinary range of sports they participate in, reflects the depth and strength of our sports programme. I would like to take the opportunity to thank each of our staff members who commit to coaching different teams, and I know this is very much appreciated by our community.
We will be issuing end of year reports next week, and this will be another chance to celebrate successes as well as considering areas for growth. Conversations at home always help students to reflect and plan forward and I would suggest simple questions such as:
‘What did you do well and how did you achieve this success?’
What did you find challenging and what are your next steps to overcome these challenges?’
I hope you enjoy these conversations as you gain insights to your child’s progress.
Have a wonderful weekend ahead.
Best regards,
Mark

In our assembly this week we farewelled Nadini Agarwal, Jaden Chui and Mrs Green. We wish them all the best for the future.
We also congratulated:
The last of the GCSE exams finished this week. It has been nice to see a few Year 11's around school as they return text books.
Next week is our last week of the school year and students should be emptying lockers so that the lockers can all be cleaned over the summer. Locks need to be removed and content emptied by next Friday, 27th June. Any locks left on lockers will be cut off so that the cleaning can take place.
Our last day, Friday, will be a half-day with buses departing from school at 12.15 pm.
Year 8 & 9 Message
This week we hosted the final stage of the Year 9 Community Project, which truly showcased the remarkable talents of our students as they actively worked to make a positive impact. Their extensive research and thoughtful strategies to create meaningful change were impressive. It was great to see so many families present at the Exhibition and MYP Graduation, proudly celebrating their children’s achievements. Congratulations to Dean Beard and all the Year 9 teachers for their support throughout the year.
Additionally, the Sports Awards provided a fantastic opportunity to highlight the strength of the sports programme at KGV and honor the achievements of our athletes.
The last week of school
We are all looking forward to spending the day at Ocean Park on Monday 23rd June. To help the day run smoothly Mr. Tranter has sent a letter to all Year 9 families so please look out for that. Please note, the weather is expected to be hot and sunny so a water bottle , hat and sunscreen are essential for the day. Finally students are expected to be in school at the usual time and should be wearing their PE shirt.

The room and book will remain open until Monday 23rd June.
Wishing you a great weekend.

With one week to go, students are doing an excellent job of keeping standards high and engaging in lessons. Yesterday, we celebrated all things KGV Sport and student contributions to KGV Sport. To enable the success and sustainability of our CAS program, we rely on the dedication and commitment of the KGV staff. By actively participating in the CAS program, our staff act as positive role models, mentors, and facilitators of personal growth for our students. Their valuable contributions have played a pivotal role in enriching the lives of our students beyond their academic pursuits, so a huge thank you to all staff for making the CAS program what it is.
If there is something missing from our CAS program, please complete the suggestion form and we will do our best to try and add to the program: CAS Suggestion Form

School References & Grade Summary
The KGV Careers Office coordinates all our student references and grade summaries, including potential exit & summer programmes.
School references for higher education application process for Year 12 and Year 13 are handled in a different process. There is no need to make a separate request. Instead, students should be working closely with their H.E. Counsellors so that we can support their applications appropriately.
To protect our students’ privacy, parental permission is required before KGV can release any student information to external parties. KGV will only fulfil requests once we have received this permission.
Parents need to submit a request for school reference or grade summary via this Google form.
References for Non-higher education purposes
Our normal lead time for teachers to work on references is four working weeks.
Requests for school references received by 6 pm on 23 May should be fulfilled before the end of the school year.
Requests received after this deadline will be processed, but we cannot guarantee completion before the summer break. Such requests are expected to be fulfilled upon the school's resumption in August.
Grade Summary
Parents should use their parent Lionel login to access semester summaries on their child's CCF page. Requests for grade summary will be processed in July, after the release of the 2024-25 Semester 2 summaries.
External Extension Programmes
If students are pursuing external extension programmes outside of KGV, they should read and follow the information on this website.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
