Principal's Message
Dear KGV Families,
I hope your child has enjoyed a good week, and had a positive start to this half-term. A key theme we have focused on is community, linking closely with the ESF concepts of personalisation, belonging and engagement.
It has been wonderful to see our students immersed in the preparations for Sports Day, with all students participating in trial events and our cheerleading teams ready to bring a real sense of vibrancy to the occasion. The strong house identity plays such an important role at KGV, capturing the heritage and ambition of the school whilst building a clear sense of community for all students.
The PTSA is another key aspect of our community, and the engagement of our committee is so supportive of our students and parents. After the success of the KGV Gala Dinner, the PTSA are now fully into planning for the Winter Festival on the 5th December. This is sure to be another memorable occasion and more details will follow soon.
Our celebrations committee also brought joy and vibrancy to KGV this week, bringing light and colour to our Diwali celebrations. Happy Diwali to those in our community who celebrate this festival, and I wish you all a joyful and prosperous time.
Have a good weekend ahead.
Best regards,
Mark
Year 10 & 11 Message
During the assembly this week, students were reminded of the importance of their well-being to help them be successful. Wellbeing starts with them, they should focus on sleep, steps and socialising to stay healthy and happy. We continued discussing ways to establish habits that will help them develop into the capable individuals they aspire to be. We asked students to notice the things they do connected with wellbeing this week.
Congratulations to Kana Leung on her successful tennis tournament in Thailand.

An Unforgettable Evening!
We are thrilled to share the remarkable success of our 130th Anniversary Gala Dinner, held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at the iconic Regent Hong Kong. This special event was co-hosted by the school and the Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA), bringing together parents, staff, alumni, and key community representatives. We were also honoured to welcome distinguished guests, including Dr Christine Choi, the Secretary for Education of Hong Kong, alongside ESF senior leaders, ESF Board Members and School Council members.
The atmosphere was truly glamorous and electric! Guests enjoyed an evening brimming with captivating performances, exquisite cuisine and a true celebrative spirit. Our talented students and staff showcased their artistry, sharing the stage with professional entertainers to create a sensory feast. The night culminated in a vibrant performance by the Red Stripes, who have a strong connection with KGV and ESF.
The success of the Gala Dinner is a testament to the incredible spirit and generosity of everyone involved. A heartfelt thank you to our sponsor, the PTSA, performers, and every guest who contributed to making this night a milestone celebration! The funds raised through the auction will directly support student projects and scholarships, ensuring a lasting impact on our community. We will share more details through the school's social media and the following newsletters. Stay tuned for more updates.
