Principal's Message
Dear KGV Families,
Belonging is one of the ESF’s core concepts, and one that we aspire for each one of our students. It is where students build their identity and feel that KGV is a school made just for them. A school for one.
Belonging will be at the centre of our thinking over the next week as we celebrate Year 13 students graduating next Wednesday, and welcome our future Year 7 students for transition day on Friday. Throughout their 7 years at KGV, our graduating class will have many memories, lots of stories to tell and will have developed lifelong friendships. It is often a bittersweet moment for the Year 13 students, but we know they are ready for the next steps in their lives and will always belong to the KGV community. We wish them well for the future and look forward to celebrating this milestone with the students and their families.
As one group graduates, we start to prepare for our next cohort to join us with transition day next Friday. As we welcome our future students and their parents to the school, it is often a day of excitement, anticipation and nervousness. It is also a day where they start to sense what it means to be a KGV student. The importance of the heritage of the school, the ambition for everyone to be their own remarkable, and the warmth of the community that fosters such a strong sense of belonging.
We have also been continuing to plan forward for the KGV launch of the ESF Hub in August, our new online system. It was good to see so many of our parents join the webinar on Thursday and I hope this gave a glimpse of the advantages this new system will bring. Look out for further communication in June.
I hope you and your family have an enjoyable long weekend ahead.
Best regards,
Mark

Year 7 Assembly: Tuesday, May 26th
There will be a Year 7 Assembly on Tuesday, May 26th. This assembly will include the highly anticipated semi-final of the Spelling Bee. We wish all of our Year 7 competitors the very best of luck as they prepare for the event.
Year 9 Assembly: Thursday, May 28th
Please note that there will be a dedicated Year 9 Assembly on Thursday, May 28th. Year 9 students are expected to attend and ensure they are punctual, as we will be sharing key updates and finalising arrangements for their upcoming end-of-year events and transition activities.
Primary to Secondary Transition Day: Friday, May 29th
On Friday, May 29th, we will be hosting our Primary to Secondary Transition Day. This is an incredibly important event as we welcome the rising cohort of students who will be joining the KGV community.
We would like to extend a warm thank you to all our current students who have already been involved, or will be involved, in supporting these younger pupils during their visit. We also thank our student body in advance for demonstrating our school values by being exceptionally welcoming, helpful, and kind when they see the visiting primary students around our campus on Friday.
Thank you for your continued support of our school community.
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are approaching an incredibly poignant and celebratory milestone in the school calendar. This week has been a whirlwind of activity behind the scenes as our team works to finalise the arrangements for our Year 13 graduation events. We are also keeping a close eye on our Year 12 students as they navigate a demanding period of their academic journey.
I am looking forward to seeing you all next Wednesday, the 27th, for the Year 13 Graduation Ceremony, and again on Friday, the 29th, for the Reception at the Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel. We are profoundly excited to share these memorable occasions with our graduates and their families. Let's make it an unforgettable send-off!
For our Year 12 students, the academic landscape is shifting into high gear. As Internal Assessment (IA) deadlines approach and end-of-year reports are just around the corner, we know that the workload can start to feel like an imposing incline.
During high-pressure windows, it is entirely natural for teenagers to feel overwhelmed. However, this stress can occasionally tempt students to look for shortcuts, such as the misuse of artificial intelligence or unauthorized collaboration.
We want to gently but firmly reinforce that academic integrity is non-negotiable. Both KGV and the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) take any breaches of these standards with the utmost seriousness. True success comes from developing authentic skills, exercising personal agency, and learning from the process, even when it gets messy.
Parent Resource: We highly encourage you to review the school's guidelines together with your child. The official policy PDF is attached here for your reference.
Wishig you all a lovely long weeked.

Dear Parents,
We are excited to invite you to an upcoming webinar dedicated to the ESF Hub, our new parent app designed to streamline your school communications.
Following our recent app notifications, we encourage those who haven't yet registered to join us for this introductory session.
We look forward to seeing you online and helping you make the most of the ESF Hub.

Dear Parents,
On behalf of KGV Xueciety, our school’s student-led blood health advocacy group, we cordially invite all parents to our first-ever Blood Bank Day event on the 20th June 2026! (date can be subject to change depending on donor turnout)
The Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service (BTS) has reported a 14% decline in blood collection over the past decade (to 219,200 units in 2024), failing to meet annual targets.
We’re partnering with the Hong Kong Red Cross to provide a unique, hands-on opportunity for the KGV community to get involved and participate in. By mobilising our collective power as a community, we’re able to help out hospitals and provide life-saving healthcare to individuals within our wider community of Hong Kong.
