Principal's Message
Dear KGV Families,
I hope you have enjoyed a good week. This week has been one of vibrancy and positivity, with so many celebratory moments. These celebrations included ESF Chef, KGV MYP Graduation, ESF Evening of Dance, KGV Ezra Abraham Scholarships, ESF Secondary Music, KGV Sports Award and the ESF Art Exhibition. These events demonstrate and reflect such a diverse range of incredible achievements across all aspects of education. As well as highlighting the talent of our remarkable students, such successes make us proud of the dedication and professionalism of the KGV staff as they provide these opportunities.
Alongside these celebrations, as we move towards the end of the academic year we take the time to reflect on academic progress. With our end of year reports being shared next week, it creates the opportunity for each child to feel pride in their achievements and consider their next steps in learning. I would encourage each family to have a positive and constructive conversation regarding these reports, with possible questions being:
What achievement are you most proud of and why?
In which subject(s) have you achieved the most growth and how did you do this?
What learning habits have you developed that have helped you to be successful?
What are your key areas of challenge?
What are your next steps in overcoming these challenges?
These conversations are always appreciated by your children (even if they don’t say it!) and help parents to engage and support their child’s educational experiences.
A quick reminder that the last day of term is Friday 26th June and school will finish at 12 pm. For next academic year, Y7, 12 and 13 will return on Wednesday 12th August for an induction day. All students return to school on Thursday 13th August.
I hope you and your family have an enjoyable long weekend ahead.
Best regards,
Mark Poulsum
Year 10
In assembly this week, we gave students a perspective on their two-year journey, posing the key question, "What do you want to get out of next year?" We suggested that the summer break is a time to pause and also to prepare. Next week is the last of the school year. During the week, we hope to send out the end-of-year report, which will show current attainment grades and a comment from each teacher about what is going well and where work may be required. Next Friday, we will finish with celebratory house assemblies and time with tutors before we close for the summer at 12 pm.
Year 11
We had our final exam on Monday and all Year 11 students are now enjoying a well-earned break. Congratulations to all our students for completing such a long and challenging process.
If you are returning to KGV for Year 12, the first day of school will be Wednesday, August 12th. If you are not returning to KGV, it is very important that you download any reports you want to keep from Lionel and ask your child to set up email forwarding on their school account and download anything they want to keep from their Google account before 15th June.
Students will be emailed links and login details to retrieve their exam results from:Cambridge and Edexcel. AQA results (DT and Food Tech) will be emailed out.
Results will be available to students from:
If your child is leaving KGV, does not set up email forwarding and they sat Food Tech or DT, then a family member can visit the KGV exams office to collect the AQA results in August.

Supporting you child's wellbeing this summer
For parents of adolescents, the arrival of summer brings a unique set of challenges, especially if your family is staying close to home. Without the natural structure of the school week, a young mind’s summer can quickly morph into an endless cycle of late-night scrolling, noon wake-ups, and digital isolation.
While it is tempting to let them completely check out after a demanding academic year, maintaining basic routines and keeping screen time low are vital for ensuring a healthier, happier summer break. At KGV, we focus our individual wellbeing management strategy on three foundational pillars: Sleep, Steps, and Social. Our internal data shows that these three areas are the single biggest determinants of student health and happiness.
As we head into the holidays, we strongly encourage parents to have collaborative conversations with their teens to establish consistent parameters at home. By doing so, you can help them find the sweet spot between deep, restorative rest and purposeful engagement.
To help guide these conversations, please see the full guidance below, which details our latest student data and practical strategies for the summer ahead.

22 - 26 June 2026

Bowl Lunch will be served at the Main Canteen.
