26 - 29 May 2026

Hey KGV!
Have you ever kept track of your daily spending on food?
In collaboration with the NGO Justice Centre, we are launching the $40 Food Challenge, where each participant’s goal is to spend only $40 HKD on meals per day throughout the week. We are inviting students and parents to join this challenge as it is a great opportunity to experience the struggles of migrants and refugees in our local community while practicing a more mindful approach to eating and saving money for a meaningful cause.
Everything you save by skipping expensive coffees or snacks can be donated to Justice Centre at the end of the week. If committing to an entire week feels too daunting, taking on the challenge for just a single day is also a fantastic way to show your support, as long as you put in the effort!
Do you think you can manage on just $40 a day for all your meals?
Sign up to find out!

On behalf of the Body Banter team, I am really excited to share that we are launching our next round of recruitment for our youth mentorship initiative: the Bring On the Banter Ambassadors (BOBA) program. Student leaders selected in this cycle will kick off their year-long advocacy journey with us this coming September. This program is a year-long journey in which participating student leaders (ages 14-22) receive mentorship from the Body Banter team to complete an advocacy project on campus. Our first cohort is well underway, and our second cohort will be completing their advocacy training workshops at the end of May, so our program is really taking flight!
We have designed the program so it can be easily counted toward existing school requirements, such as the MYP Community Project, IBCP Community Engagement, or the IB CAS project. Since we provide all the training, project templates, and external mentorship, this program is a great way for students to lead high-quality initiatives with minimal extra supervision required from school staff. As usual, this program is entirely free for students to join.
You can find the application form HERE and more information about the program on our WEBSITE.
The deadline for this round of applications is MONDAY, 22 June 2026.

Hi all
Please find the latest Interhouse Update below. This includes important updates regarding results and sign-ups for Interhouse events.
Any questions please let me know
Mr Mistry
Y7-10 Lunch and Learn is every Wednesday from 1:35 to 2:15pm in ICT 4.
Bring your lunch and come along if you are:
There will also be a teacher and Senior students available to help you if you need.
Next week, the Individual Oral (IO) for IB English will be taking place across the following English classrooms from Tuesday, May 26th to Friday, May 29th:
2nd floor: EN201, EN202, EN203, EN204, EN205, EN206 (Wednesday onwards)
3rd floor: EN301, EN302, EN303 (Tuesday onwards)
Because of the assessment, regular classes that have a timetabled lesson in the English block during Week 2 have been re-roomed – please check the re-rooming arrangements in case you are affected.
You will not be able to access the corridors of the English block as usual during that week; signs and barriers will be put up accordingly. Please observe these with respect and maintain a quiet manner around the assessment areas.
If there are any major questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me (Ms. Maggie Chan). Otherwise, thank you all so much in advance for your understanding and support of this important task for our Y12 students!
Get ready for a week of games, stalls, and fundraising! To support our various causes, please note that student stalls and events cannot accept cash.
Following the successful Mini-Enterprise event model, we will use a token system.
Pick up your tokens early and be ready to jump into the action!

Students have been working on their Community Project all year. They have been encouraged to aim for May as the month their group takes action.
There will be Advocacy campaigns displayed on TVs around the school, and you will start to see collection/ donation drives appear (outside the CAS office). Please engage in these topics.
During the week beginning the 26th of May, students may organise an event for their ACTION at school.
What could this look like?
Students may use before school, break time and/or lunchtime to conduct their ACTION. This might be a group looking to promote their campaign, run an installation and/or, in some cases, raise money (NO BAKE SALES ALLOWED). Please engage in these activities and support the Year 9 students.
Students have created videos/campaigns that will be posted on the bulletin/TVs during the ACTION week. Please discuss and engage in the issues the Year 9s are attempting to highlight.
In the week before, there will be a counter available near the GLT to purchase TOKENS, as this year, all activities will be CASHLESS
Thank you in advance for supporting the students in the long-term challenging project.
The CAS Interviews start next week, so please make sure you have checked and double-checked the date and location of your CAS interview.
If you DO have a clash, it is your responsibility to contact your interviewer and reschedule. It is not acceptable to just not turn up.
You will need to excuse yourself from a lesson a few minutes before your time to get ready. If your scheduled time clashes with something you don’t want to miss, then please liaise directly with your CAS Advisor to reschedule.
Instructions:
Tips on how to structure your presentation can be found at the link below
If the presentation goes well AND your records are up to date, then you should leave the meeting fully signed off and completed. If either of these is not satisfactory, your CAS completion will be delayed, and follow-up tasks will be required.
Regards
Mr Beard
As you begin your more intensive study for preparing the exams, please adhere to the following guidelines to ensure a productive environment for everyone,:
1. Study Pod Bookings
The study pods are a popular resource for focused group work. Please follow the booking protocol:
How to book: All reservations must be made through Mr. Wong.
Booking Limit: To ensure fair access, each student should book up to 2 lesson periods at a time.
2. Maintaining a Quiet Environment
The Senior Side is primarily a zone for deep concentration.
Silent Study Area: Absolute silence must be maintained here. Please keep your devices on silent and avoid conversations.
Pod Etiquette: Even if you have booked a study pod, please keep your volume down. The pods are not soundproof, and loud discussions can easily disturb those working in the surrounding areas.
3. Collaborative Work & Discussion
We understand that you may require active discussion. If you need to engage in a group discussion:
Please utilise LRC 1 or LRC 2.
These areas are specifically designated for interactive learning, allowing the Senior Side to remain a quiet sanctuary for independent study.
4. No Eating
To preserve our resources and maintain a clean professional environment, no eating is permitted on the Senior Side of the LRC. Please finish your snacks or lunch in the designated canteen areas before entering.
If you fail to follow these guidelines, you will be asked to leave the senior side of the LRC immediately.
5. Don't leave your belongings at the LRC during the exam
Let's work together to keep the library a respectful and effective space. Thanks for your cooperation!
Dear Year 12 & 13,
To help with your planning for this year and to ease some of the assessment pressure, we have grouped Year 12 & 13 summative assessments and IA schedules into distinct blocks and to include periods of time with no assessments.
The Y12/13 assessment schedule is HERE. I have also included 2 new tabs which has specific dates for each assessment. Please note that exact dates for assessments and IA deadlines etc should be communicated to you well in advance. Please continue to liaise with your teachers regarding these dates. However, they should be in line with this schedule.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
